Terms of Service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These terms cover the OpenAny website (openany.dev) and the OpenAny VS Code extensions ("the Software"), made by Geary Works ("we"). By installing the Software or buying a license you agree to them.

1. Free tier

The free features of the Software may be used by anyone, for any lawful purpose, on any number of machines, at no charge. We may change which features are free in future major versions, but a version you already have keeps working as it did.

2. Paid licenses

A Pro license lets one person use the paid features on up to 3 machines. A Team license lets up to 10 people in one organization use the paid features, one machine each, or fewer people on more machines, up to 10 activations total. A license is a one-time purchase and includes all updates within the major version you bought. You may move activations between machines from your license portal.

You may not share, resell, or publish a license key, or use one key to serve more people than the license allows. We may deactivate keys that are clearly being abused, and will email you first when we can.

3. Purchases and the merchant of record

Purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), which is the merchant of record. Polar handles payment, tax collection, invoices and refunds on our behalf. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms. Refunds follow our refund policy.

4. Your files

The Software processes your files locally inside VS Code. We never receive them. You are responsible for what you do with redacted or exported files; redaction is best-effort and you should review a file before sharing it.

5. No warranty; limit of liability

The Software is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including data loss.

6. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the Software at any time. We may end your license if you materially breach these terms.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
